How to Cover Hooded Eyes with Eyeshadow
If there is one thing that the whole beauty industry can agree on (apart from our intense love for cosmetics), it is how difficult it can be to apply makeup to your specific eye shape, especially if you have hooded eyes. We know how stressful it is to create a lovely eyeshadow look just to have it evaporate as soon as you gaze straight ahead (*eye roll*), as some of us were blessed with them. These eye-catching makeup techniques for hooded eyes will make it simple AF to apply any style to those stunning eyes, so the days of battling are done! CALL US FOR MAKEUP ARTIST COURSE IN GURGAON
Using eyeshadow on eyes with hoods
With these tips and tactics, you can enhance your lid and
conceal the hooded areas. Hooded eyes are characterised by the decreased lid
space brought on by skin that covers the majority of your eyelid. These will
work like magic, we guarantee it! Watch this hooded eyes makeup lesson and
follow the instructions if you're more of a visual person.
1. Limit the length of your brows
We realise that this isn't eyeshadow, but bear with us. It's
crucial to watch out when filling in your brows so that you don't lengthen them
and make the tail of your brows lower than the head. Your eyes will appear
tired and droopy when your brows are overextended in that manner.
2. Preparation for Eyes
Due to the deep crease in the hooded area, eyeshadow tends
to transfer more when you have hooded eyes. Fortunately, fixing this is really
simple. By using your favourite crease-free primer and setting it with powder
for more staying power, you can prevent your eyeshadow from transferring.
3. Make a phoney crease
Apply your transition shades just above your crease to give
the appearance of a false crease and emphasise hooded eyes. In addition to
pushing back the hooded areas and giving the appearance of additional lid
space, this will give the appearance of brighter eyes.
4. Mix upward
Blend any shadows on your outer corner upwards and outwards
when doing so. By blending your eyeshadow in this way, your eyes will appear
more open and lifted.
5. Avoid Using Dark Eyelid Shadows
Keep all the darker, deeper shadows away from your eyelids
because doing so will result in a lesser space for your lids when applying
makeup to hooded eyes. Instead, keep the lighter hues on your inner corners and
lids to brighten those areas while concentrating those tones on your outward
corners (this applies to your lash line, too).
6. Only emphasise your brow bone!
You highlight the hood of your eyes when you lower your
highlighter below the brow bone as opposed to keeping it there. To prevent
drawing attention to the hooded parts of your eyes, keep the highlight directly
beneath your brows.
7. Your BFF is thin eyeliner.
Don't fill the entire lid with heavy liner because hooded
eyes have little to no lid space! To maintain your eyes wide and defined, keep
your eyeliner extremely thin. You may also use white or neutral eyeliner on
your waterline to achieve brighter eyes!
